Christmas seems like such a long time ago. I guess it's really only been two months. We took the train up to Seattle to spend the holiday with Jonathan's family. Has anyone out there taken the train?
Well on the way there we had a sleeper car. But NOT on the way back.
The way up was filled with wonderful views of the Sierra mountains and beautiful county. It also had views of peoples' backyards.....trailer homes with old mattresses rotting, cars on cinder blocks, garbage just chucked out. I guess some places don't have waste management. But the ride was nice. we had nice meals, had our oun "room" to squeeze into for privacy, and a communal out of order toilet! AHHH Paradise.
We were in Seattle for 10 days and had a marvelous time. Bella got a lot of attention. Lots of hugs and kisses. Jonathan and I still talk about Christmas dinner. Rita made the most wonderful duck meal I've ever had in my life.
Bella met her Uncle Jeremy...I think she likes him. I saw my cousin...hung out in downtown. WE DID GO TO STARBUCKS but only once...AND I only had juice.
The train ride home was a nightmare. We rode coach...and ....I whinned enough to get Jonathan to ride in the observation car so I could have BOTH uncomfotable seats to sleep on with the baby. (I'm currently in physical therapy) Kids ran through the cars ALL night. I got motion sick. And we were delayed comming in. When we did get to Oakland it was pouring rain and we had to shlep all our stuff down the length of the train, through the train station and out to the street were the bus was. The walk way was flooded, people were rushing and pushing and you would think that people would move out of your way...say if you were....carring a baby? No. I don't expect the parting of the Red Sea just because I have a baby...but come on. Is it so much to ask for people not run into me or shove me? I hate people . They can all burn in HELL.
(people did this to me when I was pregnant too)
And that was Christmas in Seattle. We had a lovely time. Bella had a great first Christmas that I'm sure she'll remember forever.
Oh and did I mention...we forgot ONE bag at the train station....the one with our clean clothes.
